School Safety and Security at a Glance

MCPS School Safety and Security at a Glance provides, in a single document, information about the reporting of incidents related to school safety and security, school climate, local school safety program descriptions, and serious incidents. Information is presented for each school. While much of this information is available in various documents produced throughout the year, MCPS School Safety and Security at a Glance provides this information for stakeholders in a single comprehensive report with a user-friendly format.

Special Note for 2020–2021 School Year: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020–2021 School Safety and Security at a Glance will not be published. The overall number of the incidents is too small to be reported in accordance with our reporting standards.

Special Note for 2019–2020 School Year:   Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and school buildings closing with students moving to virtual learning in March of 2020, suspension data, serious incident data, and drill data was not collected in April, May, and June of the 2019–2020 school year. Therefore, the numbers for these data points are lower than previous school years and comparisons should be made with caution.
