Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Regulation IFD-RA, Curriculum Transparency and Requests To Be Excused From Instruction allows for parents or guardians to determine whether the use of specific core instructional material substantially interferes with their sincerely held religious beliefs. MCPS will make lists of the core instructional materials available online and parents/guardians may review these materials upon request.
Parents or guardians must submit this form to have their child excused from instruction using objectionable core instructional materials and to have alternative instructional materials provided when necessary. Parents or guardians may change their decision with respect to the use of alternative instructional materials by providing notice to the school.
