This dashboard includes data on the performance of MCPS students on the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) English Language Arts (ELA). MCAP ELA is a required assessment in the state of Maryland. MCAP ELA measures complex reading and writing skills. The tests are scored on a four-point scale—Level 1: Beginning Learner; Level 2: Developing Learner; Level 3: Proficient Learner; Level 4: Distinguished Learner. Students scoring 3’s and 4’s are considered to be on track to be college and career ready. The percentage of students meeting each performance level is included in this dashboard.
