Ms. Kane’s testimony referenced “potential solutions to address the asks of the Black and Brown coalition.”  She then specifically requested that MCPS representatives engage in discussions around these solutions.

As Montgomery County Education Association Bargaining Team Co-Chair, Ms. Kane is part of the collective bargaining process currently underway between MCPS and our employee associations. We agree that this collective bargaining process is an appropriate vehicle for engaging around these issues, and we intend to continue these conversations with Ms. Kane and other representatives through this process, while seeking guidance and direction from the Board in Closed Session. We appreciate Ms. Kane’s advocacy around these important issues
