EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, develops, and coordinates parent, community, and business outreach activities and programs that support improved student learning and academic achievement. Develops business, higher education, and community partnerships. Supports the efforts of schools to develop and maintain successful strategic partnerships with businesses and community organizations. Maintains relationships with higher education, government agencies, and other groups and individuals that impact schools and families. Implements programs to foster and maintain collaboration among various parent groups, community members, and school and system staff. Facilitates the school system¿s commitment to parental involvement programs that support educational equity initiatives. Serves as a resource to MCPS offices and departments as well as external organizations with the development of programs and services to support students and families. Assists parents, school staff, and community organization members with the development of effective programs to improve parental and community involvement to assist students in achieving high academic standards. Designs and develops training models for parent education and parent leadership on various issues. Collects data and prepares responses to requests for information. Represents deputy superintendent/superintendent on task forces and committees. Understands and applies principles of performance evaluation and professional growth standards for employees. Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
