EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates legal affairs concerning department including EEOC, ADA, and Affirmative Action.Coordinates all personnel employee investigations, grievances and law suits; compiles information from a variety of external and internal sources; determines need for a full investigation; initiates the appropriate level of investigative inquiry to protect the interests of MCPS; conducts investigations as necessary and assigns investigation workload when outside assistance is required; prepares confidential reports on all investigations which may serve as the basis for personnel actions.Writes reports and prepares materials for transmittal to the BOE; prepares written recommendations, reports, and analyses on a variety of personnel matters such as employment discrimination complaints, balanced staffing, and policies and procedures.Assists in the financial management of the departmental accounts.Represents the Director of Personnel Services at meetings and sessions as appropriate.Co-chairs steering committees and program efforts.Assists in the day to day operation of the Department of Personnel Services as requested by the department director.Performs other duties as assigned.
