EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processes an ongoing office operation of the unit, performs all tasks required to obtain information, sets up files, verifies and checks data, completes forms, records changes and prepares summary reports.For example: processes orders from cafeterias for warehouse shipments, monitors timeliness and accuracy of orders and shipments; prepares purchase orders and processes vendors' invoices for payment of food commodities; receives and processes communications regarding student or teacher placement and follows through with schools, universities, area offices and others to complete placement process; maintains resource room and supplies for speech pathologists; acquires materials through interlibrary loans; processes holdings and maintenance of computerized records of library holdings; maintains records on special education students placed in non-MCPS schools; processes test returns by creating and organizing response categories, scoring tests, setting up computer files and entering data, and producing reports; Processes the purchase and distribution of textbooks to schools.Gathers, prepares and submits payroll and employee data for centralized processing of all bus operations personnel: processes payroll, leaves, disciplinary actions, new hires, terminations and prepares personnel action requests (PARs); coordinates personnel transaction processing with central office and all involved subunits.Performs skilled word processing by producing a variety of documents (letters, memos, reports, psychological evaluations, bid documents, announcements, forms, etc.) from rough draft copy, machine dictation, verbal instructions, sketches and brief notes: utilizes full capability of equipment to create style sheets, move or merge text, check spelling, do arithmetic, create mailing lists and form letters; produces charts, graphs and tables; maintains electronic data files of documents following established procedures for creating backup files, purging files, and storing files.Answers inquiries regarding programs and services, explaining requirements and assisting callers in completing forms or other actions; maintains office or unit records for program and processes actions, as for example: providing information and processing transactions concerning teacher course credits.Performs related work as required.
