Statement from Board of Education President Brenda Wolff and Acting Superintendent Dr. Monifa B. McKnight on the Rise in Anti-Semitic Incidents

May 29, 2021

The ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict has resulted in a significant uptick of threats of violence and expressions of bigotry in Montgomery County and across the nation. Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) condemns all acts of racist violence and any behavior that threatens the safety of our students, staff and community. Equity and respect for all are core values of MCPS and we expect all students and staff to embrace these values and celebrate the rich diversity of our community.

If a student experiences or witnesses bullying or harassment, please inform a staff member and complete the bullying and harassment form. We also encourage you to review the MCPS Guidelines for Respecting Religious Diversity (linked below).
