Community Notification: COVID-19 Case at Seneca Valley High School

September 21, 2021

Dear Colleagues,

It has recently come to my attention that a member of our staff that was last present at Seneca Valley High School on September 14, 2021, has received a positive test result for COVID-19.  We were notified on September 21, 2021.  We wish the individual well and look forward to their safe return once they have been medically cleared.

MCPS has worked closely with the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) County health officials during this pandemic.  Per current DHHS guidance, and based on our collaborative contact tracing process, unless notified directly, you do not need to be tested or quarantine as you  were not identified as being in direct contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19.   Please visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/php/contact-tracing/contact-tracing-plan/appendix.html#contact for information about the CDC definition of direct contact.

As always, if you develop symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath, or other COVID-19 symptoms, contact your healthcare provider immediately for advice. Please do not report to work and notify your supervisor that you will be staying home.

If you have additional questions related to COVID-19, you may contact County health officials at 240-777-1755 for additional information.

We appreciate your cooperation as we work to maintain a safe and healthy school environment.
