The Board of Education met today [Tuesday, July 6] and approved the following 15 administrative appointments, including those as part of an administrative reorganization:

* John Q. Porter, currently chief information officer, Office of Global Access Technology, as deputy superintendent, Office of Strategic Technologies and Accountability.

* Brian J. Porter, currently director, Department of Communications, as chief of staff, Office of the Superintendent of Schools.

* Aggie Alvez, currently director of special projects, Office of the Superintendent of Schools, as director, Department of Communications and Public Information, Office of the Superintendent of Schools.

* Donna S. Hollingshead, currently principal, Cabin John Middle School, as executive director, Office of the Deputy Superintendent of Schools.

* Kristin A. Alban, currently principal intern, Cannon Road Elementary School, as principal, Lucy V. Barnsley Elementary School.

* Debra A. Berner, currently principal intern, Jackson Road Elementary School, as principal, William Tyler Page Elementary School.

* Dr. Alan Goodwin, currently principal, Thomas W. Pyle Middle School, as principal, Walt Whitman High School.

* Dr. Edward Newsome, Jr., currently president/chief executive officer, Flight to Excellence Educational Consultant, Mitchellville, Maryland, as principal, Maryvale Elementary School.

* Eric L. Minus, currently assistant principal, White Oak Middle School, as principal, Francis Scott Key Middle School.

* Dr. Theresa R. Alban, currently acting director, Office of Shared Accountability, as director, Department of Shared Accountability, Office of Strategic Technologies and Accountability.

* Jane F. Butler, currently principal, Bannockburn Elementary School, as director, Division of Family and Community Partnerships, Office of Curriculum and Instructional Programs.
