Hispanic Employees Association to Hold Reception Honoring 21 Outstanding Hispanic Students Graduating This Year

At a reception this evening [May 21, 1999] at 6:00 p.m. at the Carver Educational Services Center, members of the Hispanic Employees Association of Montgomery County Public Schools will honor 21 outstanding Hispanic high school students graduating this year.

The students, who were nominated by administration and faculty at their schools, will each receive a certificate of achievement in recognition of their academic accomplishments and leadership, as well as their contributions to extracurricular activities. This year, two students will receive scholarships of $700 and $1,500.

The Hispanic Employees Association was formed four years ago to recognize student achievement and promote the professional development of its members.
