All schools are directed by the superintendent of schools to implement the Code Blue procedures in response to another shooting in Northern Virginia.

Please note the following conditions:

* All kindergarten classes, including afternoon kindergarten, will continue as scheduled.

* All inter-school programs will continue, including the Thomas Edison High School of Technology, if the students are being transported on school system buses. All other students are to be kept at school or directed to return home.

* All outdoor student and community activities this afternoon and evening [Friday, October 11] are canceled. All indoor student and community activities will continue this afternoon and evening.

* All outdoor student and community activities this weekend [Saturday, October 12, and Sunday, October 13] are canceled. All indoor student and community activities will continue this weekend.
