ANSWER:

Staff in the Department of Infrastructure and Operations (DIO) visited Galway Elementary School on January 13, 2023, to evaluate concerns about dead zones and to determine whether it was a Wi-Fi or cellular coverage issue.  Staff completed a walk-through of the school building and identified several areas with weak signals.  Wireless access point boxes to boost the Wi-Fi signal were placed in parts of the building that had weak wireless signals for network devices. 

The Department of Systemwide Safety and Emergency Management works closely with DIO and the Department of Facilities Management to collaborate and find improved communication platforms wherever needed.
