The Montgomery County Board of Education is now accepting nominations for its prestigious Awards for Distinguished Service to Public Education—a tradition that has honored outstanding contributions to public education in Montgomery County since 1997. The awards celebrate individuals, groups, and businesses that have made a lasting impact on the educational experience within the county.

These distinguished awards recognize individuals or organizations who have demonstrated exceptional service, support, and commitment to Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) over the past three years. Whether through sustained involvement, development of exemplary programs, or contributions that benefit the entire system, these honorees help enhance educational opportunities for students and enrich the community as a whole.

Categories for Recognition
Awards will be presented in the following categories:

• Business Partner
• Community Partner
• School Service Volunteer
• Student Service Award

Who Can Be Nominated?
Eligibility for the awards includes individuals, groups, and organizations who have made an extraordinary impact on public education within MCPS. Nominees should have demonstrated:

• A significant contribution of time and expertise to MCPS programs
• The development and/or implementation of exemplary programs or projects
• Contributions that benefit the entire school system

The Student Service Award will specifically honor a current MCPS student who exemplifies these qualities in their service to the community.

How to Nominate
Anyone can submit a nomination—whether a community member, organization, business, or even the superintendent of schools or members of the Board of Education. The nomination process is open to the general public, with nominations actively encouraged from all corners of the Montgomery County community.
