The Equity Accountability Model Graduation Rate component takes into account the diverse population in schools and the unique circumstances of the students served. The vast majority of students attending MCPS high school graduate in four years, but some students need some extra time to complete this very important milestone in their lives. The reporting for this component is derived from the Maryland State Department of Education graduation rate calculations, with adjustments made for 1) English Language Learners who enter high school at ACCESS Overall Composite Levels of 1.0 through 3.9, and 2) Special Education students who are certificate bound. In addition to these adjustments, there is an opportunity to earn a 5-year cohort bonus. Unlike the other components, the goal for graduation rate is 95% to align with the MSDE graduation rate expectation.
