EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports and provides leadership to principals and other school staff. Initiates appropriate actions to support principals and schools. Monitors school improvement process, identifies an appropriate instructional focus; develops, implements, and monitors professional learning; and collects and analyzes a variety of data to monitor progress. Works with the chief operating officer and deputy superintendent to develop the annual K¿12 budget and allocation of resources to schools. Advises the superintendent and executive staff on school operational matters. Manages the principal selection and evaluation process, mentors potential leaders, and identifies candidates for promotion. Coordinates the dissemination of information regarding the training of school-based administrators. Works closely with community leadership and stakeholders. Represents the superintendent of schools as needed and clearly articulates system priorities, polices, and interests. Works with legal staff on personnel and other related matters as appropriate. Serves with other educational leaders on work groups, committees, and project action teams. Understands and applies principles of performance evaluation and professional growth standards for employees. Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
