EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates with staff in the development of comprehensive student services teams at the local school level.Leads and implements the district plan for Be Well 365 Districts plan for student wellness. Develops and interprets policies and procedures which will assure compliance with the state student services laws and assures effective functioning of student services individually and collectively at county, system, and school levels. Supervises staff members in the coordination of student services with other community resources, agencies, and services.Collaborates with directors and supervisors, principals, and central office in the delivery of student services and family engagement. Develops and maintains cooperative student services agreements and programs with other agencies and non-profit groups.Acts as liaison for the superintendent on matters related to student services and family engagement. Provides leadership in the development, direction, and coordination of residency, international student admissions, counseling, psychological, and pupil personnel services, homeless students, PBIS, restorative practices and provides input to the evaluation of these personnel.Plans professional development programs to assist district-wide staff in the understanding and effective use of the available student services and family engagement resources.Evaluates the effectiveness of all departments within the office and makes recommendations for more effective services to students.Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and performance measures for dissemination to improve the delivery of student services.Serves in a team to lead for the following: CPS, EMT, 504, Safe School Act.Participates in the selection, assignment and evaluation of staff members.Prepares an annual office and departmental operating budget with such supporting data as are necessary for clarification to the Superintendent and to the Board of Education, writes/reviews policy and regulations, and responds to proposed legislation.Responsible for strategic long-range program planning of student services and engagement.Understands and applies principles of performance evaluation and professional growth standards for employees. Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
