EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops and manages the MCPS budget dealing with program maintenance, development, and improvements.2. Provides leadership of central office staff in the following areas: consortia choice and application programs, special programs, postsecondary programs, accelerated and enriched programs, career and technology education (CTE) programs, CTE programs, High School Assessment bridge projects, and online learning programs.3. Establishes collaborative relationships with other offices and agencies in MCPS and the Maryland State Department of Education that support the mission of the department.4. Works with parent and community groups to solicit feedback and ongoing input in the development and implementation of instruction and programs. 5. Collaborates with other MCPS offices to ensure implementation of programs and in responding to parent/student appeals and stakeholder feedback.6. Collects and utilizes data to inform decisions and monitors department plans. 7. Develops and presents information and programs to the Montgomery County Board of Education, professional staff, and community groups.8. Actively promotes research and development to identify new and innovative programs and practices.9. Works with community and school groups to build their knowledge of department programs.10. Uses creative and critical thinking in department programs, staff management, and problem solving. 11. Supervises staff workload of directors, supervisors, coordinators, and instructional specialists across all divisions and units.12. Performs related work as required.
