SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION: Provide professional development support and coaching for the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives through the focused school improvement project; provide coaching on the analysis of school-level student data; collaborate with school teams on the implementation of strategies for focused school improvement; provide professional development and coaching to school leadership teams in the refinement of the school improvement plans to align with continuous improvement initiatives; provide training on the analysis of school data, collaborative work processes, application of targeted instructional strategies, the refinement of school improvement plans, and the monitoring and evaluating of initiative progress; provide support for the Administrative and Supervisory Professional Growth System initiative.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of the Montgomery County Public Schools strategic plan; extensive knowledge of the Baldrige-guided School Improvement Process and continuous improvement tools. Experience providing professional development and training at both the school and central office levels. Experience working with adult learners on school improvement and change management, team building, data analysis and interpretation, and implementation of proven strategies for success. Ability to develop a data collection system, monitor progress, and implement focused school improvement programs. Experience with the development of strategic plans, performance measures, and methods to monitor staff and stakeholder satisfaction. Ability to review and analyze data in order to determine appropriate interventions and/or identify potential trends. Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Masters degree from an accredited college or university. Five years experience as a successful school administrator. Experience with Baldrige assessment, school and continuous improvement initiatives, strategic planning, staff training, data analysis, and performance measures. Experience and work with diverse community groups and outreach programs.
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Meets Maryland state certification requirements for principal and supervisor or Administrator I.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: (Frequent overtime or night work required, etc.) Availability to occasionally work weekends and evenings to make presentations, attend meetings, etc.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide training on building high performing teams with regard to focused school improvement

Provide professional development support to school staff in the development/refinement of strategic plans and providing leadership, training, and guidance to support deployment.

Provide support to enable school teams to implement collaborative processes for data analysis and continuous improvement.

Provide focused coaching to schools in order to attain critical student achievement, including achieving Adequate Yearly Progress on stite assessments and closing the achievement gap.

Train principals and school staff on data collection and analysis interpretation and strategies for continuous improvement.

Coach schools to initiate and implement focused improvement models and tools.

Provide support to schools on meeting their performance measures based on identified goals.

Develop measures and evaluate professional development opportunities related to school improvement support.

Support the implementation of the Administrative and Supervisory Professional Growth System.

Performs other duties as assigned.
