EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinates, monitors, and evaluates work of staff within the division to maximize services to students and schools.2. Works with the Office of School Performance staff to interpret and disseminate the magnet, gifted/talented, and innovative programs, and monitor implementation of Policy IOA, Gifted and Talented Education.3. Works with principals of schools with International Baccalaureate, Centers for Highly Gifted and magnets, and other principals in monitoring quality and needs of services.4. Works with the staff within Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education, Division of ESOL, and Early Childhood Services, to insure a coordinated effort in serving schools.5. Works across the K-12 curriculum to ensure appropriate accommodations and differentiation6. Works with staff to infuse technology across all accelerated and enriched instruction.7. Plans training and provides necessary courses to maintain and improve skills and to expand knowledge of teachers in differentiation, innovative approaches, and instruction appropriate for the highly able.8. Represents the Office of Curriculum and Instructional Programs on national, state, and local committees and task forces.9. Serves as a consultant for assessment and curriculum design, implementation, and interpretation.10. Manages accounts for the Division of Accelerated and Enriched Instruction, including instructional budget allocations for magnets, gifted and talented, and International Baccalaureate programs.11. Plans and supervises student programs such as GT/LD programs and Destination Imagination.12. Performs related work as required.
