EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manages departmental activities in absence of the director.2. Assists the director in managing all functions of the department, including representing the department at community, Board of Education, County Council, and other meetings as required.3. Assists in the preparation of detailed periodic project analysis, budget requests, and summaries for senior management.4. Participates in the Emergency and Crisis Response Team.5. Assist the director in designing, creating, and implementation of emergency/crisis plan exercises for ERP team and other stakeholders within designated time frames. 6. Manages the daily operation of the safety and security programs and office. 7. Assists the director with the supervision of the project/training coordinator with considerable input into the emergency/crisis preparedness training and procedures.8. Assists the director as needed with the implementation of Maryland State required emergency/crisis plan review and approval. 9. Organizes and supervises the field security coordinators, the security monitors and patrollers.10. Participates in development of responses to questions on operating budget and security-related policy issues from senior management, the Board of Education, other governmental agencies, and the public.11. Serves as liaison to the Office of Human Resources and administrators in personnel matters involving security staff and sits on interview panel with OHR representatives for new security personnel. 12. Responds to emergency call-out situations.13. Assists in the preparation of performance evaluations of department staff.14. Performs related work as required.
