EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage office activities, including representing the office at community, Board of Education, County Council, and other meetings, as required. 2. Prepare the annual OSESS operating budget and the Special Education Staffing Plan with supporting data as are necessary for the superintendent of schools and the Board of Education. 3. Develop, organize, and monitor office processes as they relate to fiscal operations, staffing, data, and grants; implement effective and efficient processes. 4. Manage and coordinate Medical Assistance and the Oasis/Special Services online Individualized Education Program. 5. Oversee the Autism Waiver Project. 6. Assist in the allocation of resources, including staffing and funds for contracting, materials, staff development, and furniture/equipment to schools and units. 7. Oversee the preparation of budget requests and summaries. 8. Compile data for reports and responses to questions on the operating budget for the Board of Education, the Montgomery County Council, the Maryland State Department of Education, other government agencies, and the public. 9. Manage daily office functions and supervision/evaluation of unit and office staff. 10. Respond to state and federal fiscal audits. 11. Coordinate Extended School Year program in collaboration with the Department of Special Education Services. 12. Perform related work as required.
