SUMMARY DESCRIPTION; PHYSICAL DEMANDS; AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: SUMMARY DESCRIPTION; PHYSICAL DEMANDS; AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Under the direction of the Director of Academic Programs within the Division of Teaching and Learning, the Supervisor of Academic Programs provides leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of regional and countywide academic programs. The supervisor supports school-based regional program coordinators to ensure high-quality program design and delivery aligned with the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future and the district’s strategic plan. The role includes supporting school-based staff, supporting equitable access to programs, leading cross office project teams and collaborating with schools and offices, and monitoring program outcomes. The supervisor also facilitates professional learning, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement efforts that strengthen program quality and expand opportunities for students. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: None SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, to attend meetings and meet deadlines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES: KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES:Thorough knowledge of MCPS academic programs, curriculum frameworks, and state/national standards. Knowledge of program development and evaluation, equity frameworks, and instructional best practices. Ability to support school-based program coordinators. Ability to analyze and apply data for program planning, monitoring, and improvement. Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex system. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with diverse stakeholder groups. Ability to establish collaborative relationships across central office, schools, and external partners. Demonstrated commitment to equitable access, culturally responsive practices, and inclusive program design.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, curriculum and instruction, or related field. Minimum five years of successful experience as a teacher and two years in an administrative or leadership role (e.g., assistant principal, coordinator, or supervisor). Experience leading program implementation, supporting diverse learners, and facilitating professional learning. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and lead a wide range of varied projects in a complex school system.CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Meets Maryland state certification requirements for administrator licensure, i.e., Administrator I / Administrator II / Supervisor of Instruction, Assistant Principal, Principal. Completion of Observing and Analyzing Teaching I or II, or completion within one-year of the position start date.

The supervisor assists the director in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of regional and countywide academic programs.●Supports school-based regional program coordinators in the development, implementation, and evaluation of regional academic programs.Provides leadership and guidance for program design, fidelity of implementation, and equity of access.●Collaborates with schools, offices, and community partners to strengthen program quality and alignment with district priorities.●Under the direction of the Director, leads project management for the analysis of academic programs and the development and implementation of new programs at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.●Facilitates cross division teams to develop, implement, and monitor academic programs.Supports monitoring of program enrollment, access, and outcomes; identifies participation gaps and develops strategies to address them.●Facilitates professional learning for program coordinators and school staff aligned with instructional best practices and equity frameworks.●Collects and analyzes program data to inform continuous improvement and reporting.Assists the director in managing budgets, MSDE reporting, and policy implementation related to assigned programs.●Engages families, staff, and community groups to build understanding and support of academic programs.●Promotes culturally responsive practices and equitable opportunities for students across all programs.●Performs related duties consistent with the role as assigned.
