EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs and coordinates the overall master schedule for assessment, intervention and transition for children and families assigned to the site.Provides consultation and direct support to staff about the needs of families and children.Designs and conducts professional development in collaboration with lead agency representatives.Assists regional center staff in developing IFSPs, designing intervention strategies.Oversees implementation of instructional groups for children and families.Designs innovative intervention strategies and programs to address the needs of families served by the regional site.Coordinates and monitors transition process from Infants and Toddlers programming to community services and/or Part B, special education services in MCPS.Completes evaluation process for all MCPS staff assigned to the regional site in consultation with specialty supervisors; provides input to DHHS staff for evaluation of contractors as appropriate. Interviews and hires MCPS service providers in consultation with specialty supervisors.Represents service providers at transition IEP team meetings and chairs site-based initial eligibility IEP team meetings. Implements all procedures related to OASIS enrollment and IEP development.Works with MCPS and interagency administrators and other regional coordinators to address programmatic issues including mediation or parental appeals regarding services, data collection, staff professional development, policy/procedures, etc.Monitors quality and assures completion of eligibility and transition assessments and outcomes data.Addresses facilities issues at MCITP buildings and/or works with building administrators to address facilities issues including technology.Coordinates 12 month calendar scheduling for MCPS service providers and maintains accurate payroll records.Maintains accurate fiscal records and monitors expenditure of funds for the regional site.Collaborates with MCITP program manager to maintain documentation and data collection at the regional center.Keeps abreast of latest research methodology on assessment and issues relating to development of infants and toddlers.Promotes good public relations with MCPS and MCITP staff, parents, public and private organizations and the general public.Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
