EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs and coordinates the effective and efficient implementation of the educational and instructional programs in compliance with the Montessori philosophy, the school¿s charter, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.Provides guidance to staff on curriculum implementation to ensure that the appropriate content and sequence are followed.Ensures MCPS policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws are followed.Designs and implements a master schedule and related duty assignments.Establish a safe and positive and collaborative school climate, maintaining staff harmony and advocate for the children.Coordinate the development and implementation of a school discipline policy that is consistent with the MCPS policy on Student Rights and Responsibilities and Maryland State law.Work with teachers, parents, the parent organization, Crossway Community, Inc., to ensure appropriate integration of programming for all students and families.Designs and conducts professional development in collaboration with lead agency representatives to meet the instructional and support staff training needs.Collaborates with CMCS leadership in managing the school¿s fiscal resources responsibly, including the development, implementation, monitoring, and timely reporting of both revenues and expenses as required.Collaborates with CMCS leadership to ensure content alignment with the Maryland State Department of Education Common Core standards.Supervise and evaluate staff based on the MCPS established professional growth systems and Montessori pedagogical standard.Develop requests for staffing and resources.Prepare a variety of written reports and correspondence.Interviews and hires MCPS service providers in consultation with CMCS leadership.Promotes good public relations with MCPS, the Crossway Community Board of Directors, parents, and other community organizations to ensure ongoing, two-way communication and initiate activities which foster productive parent and community involvement.Represents service providers at transition IEP team meetings and chairs site-based initial eligibility IEP team meetings. Implements all procedures related to OASIS enrollment and IEP development.Works with MCPS and CMCS leadership to address programmatic issues including implementation of Montessori teaching practices, parental involvement and concerns, data collection, staff professional development, policy/procedures, etc.Monitors quality and assures completion of eligibility and transition assessments and outcomes data.Addresses facilities issues at school site and/or works with building administrators to address facilities issues including technology.Coordinates 12 month calendar scheduling for MCPS service providers and maintains accurate payroll records.Maintains accurate fiscal records and monitors expenditure of funds for the CMCS leadership.Collaborates with CMCS leadership to maintain documentation and data collection required by the charter school agreement.Serve on MCPS, Crossway Community, and other local task forces and committees. Performs related work as required.
