SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION: Under the direction of the Supervisor, Strategic Teacher Recruitment, the Coordinator, Future Employee Initiatives will support the efforts of the district in attracting and recruiting the highest quality diverse workforce. The Coordinator of Future Employee Initiatives develops, organizes, articulates, executes, and monitors an equal opportunity talent acquisition and recruitment strategy to create and establish a pipeline of MCPS students to matriculate into the MCPS workforce. Establishes relationships with higher education partners, local community organizations, and business partners to create opportunities and partnerships for students. Establishes academies of students to cultivate their interest and eventually employment into MCPS positions. Collaborates with the Recruitment Team, staffing teams, and central office staff to identify critical hiring needs to tailor the program to meet these demands.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations related to the recruitment and selection of employees. Knowledge of human resources practices, employment and labor laws. Demonstrated knowledge of talent acquisition and recruitment trends in K-12 education. Proven ability to successfully implement innovative recruitment strategies that can include but is not exclusive to establishing and nurturing pipelines. Knowledge of MCPS employee classifications and established MCPS Career and Post-Secondary Partnerships programs. Ability to establish relationships and engage middle school, high school, and college students. Proven ability to plan and execute large scale events. Proven and demonstrated knowledge and experience with developing, implementing and monitoring a long-term project with identified goals. Effective use of data driven decision making skills. Ability to cultivate and maintain highly effective internal and external relationships. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teams and departments. Ability to operate individually as well a part of a team, employ solid decision-making skills, prioritize, plan and execute multiple assignments. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; interpersonal and organizational skills.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Masters degree from an accredited college or university with course work in personnel administration, administration and supervision. At least three years of experience with creating innovative programs, project management, college and career readiness, recruitment, administrator, central office staff member, as a classroom teacher, preferably in a school system preferred. Experience with working with and engaging middle school, high school, and college students with career and goal setting. Extensive and proven experience with innovative employee recruitment to create a highly qualified and diverse workforce. Three or more years of experience with project management, human capital management specifically talent acquisition and recruitment. Extensive experience with establishing, cultivating, and maintaining relationships inside and outside of the organization Other combinations of applicable education, training and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: PHR, SPHR, or other Human Resources professional certification preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: (Special requirements such as lifting heavy objects and frequent climbing.) Lifting of recruitment materials, 15- 25 pounds.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: (Frequent overtime or night work required, etc.) Ability to work extended hours, including evening/weekend meetings. Limited use of leave especially during the months of January- June due to the recruitment season calendar.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Creates, implements, and monitors a talent acquisition and hiring plan to establish a pipeline for MCPS students to enter the MCPS workforce.
Coordinates a systemwide student program to increase interest and create future employment opportunities to diversify the workforce.
Meets with students monthly.
Collaborates with MCPS Career and Post-Secondary Partnerships, Career Pathways, Higher Education Partnerships, School Counseling Services and Student Leadership to coordinate a talent acquisition program focused on MCPS students.
Analyzes data of classifications that are either difficult to hire or critical shortage areas to identify positions to build a strategic trajectory.
Develops and implements a targeted communication and connection strategy (keeping them warm) specifically for MCPS alumni to maintain engagement and establish mentoring opportunities.
Structures and facilitates job preparation seminar series for students with MCPS supervisors.
Attends Career Days at middle and high schools to promote MCPS careers.
Coordinates a student internship program within MCPS to create opportunities for student exposure to a variety of classifications.
Coordinates a job match program for students in MCPS Career and Post-Secondary Partnerships as well as those eligible for employment.
Facilitates career opportunities for MCPS alumni.
Organizes seminars and campus visits for students focused on majoring in education.
Aligns the MCPS Career and Post-Secondary Partnerships programs with current MCPS positions to create informational sessions, internships, and employment opportunities for students.
Knowledgeable of all Professional Growth Systems for employees.
Supports recruitment and job screening events.
Performs other related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
