SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION: Employed by Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), under direction of the Chief of the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Schools, the OTLS Organizational Development Coordinator is responsible for the development of professional learning opportunities for central service OTLS leaders and staff. Major responsibilities include a wide variety of professional learning roles, including, but not limited to, trainer, coach, consultant, resource provider, facilitator, and project manager. Collaborates with other departments and offices in the planning, facilitating, and implementation of professional learning in response to the recommendations of the antiracism audit and next steps. Additionally, the coordinator assists with OTLS initiatives and projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Extensive experience and knowledge of: facilitation and group process; current research, principles, and practices of adult learning; equity and antiracism and other related bodies of research; professional and staff development strategies and models; the school improvement process. Experience using technology to support learning and engagement of staff, students, and stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively with school system staff, county government staff, parent leadership groups, business partners, and community organizations focused on student learning and wellbeing. Ability to assess program needs and plan program implementation. Ability to support the preparation of papers and presentations for the superintendent and Board of Education. Excellent planning, organization, management, written and oral communication, and human relation skills required.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in areas of curriculum, school counseling, education, administration, human resources or personnel administration or equivalent experience; five years or more experience in a leadership, coordinator, or management position in a K through 12 school system (preferred); considerable experience with the analysis and use of student and/or employee data to inform policy and practice; extensive experience with leading establishing, cultivating, and maintaining relationships inside and outside of the organization; demonstrated experience in project management, program development, implementation and evaluation; experience in organizational and management analysis; recent experience in a business financial, administrative, detail-oriented position in a large public service organization with a substantial scope of responsibility preferred.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Works collaboratively with OTLS senior leadership to design, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of OTLS central service professional learning activities. 2. Serves on a variety of central services committees and provides professional learning opportunities in collaboration with other offices. 3. Collaborates with Learning and Achievement Specialists to create learning progressions and provide coaching and feedback on the professional learning sessions and training plans. 4. Coordinates opportunities for OneOTLS staff to promote dialogue and professional learning to address and interrupt the racial predictability in student outcomes, parent engagement, and wellbeing. 5. Ensures alignment with the core value of equity and the antiracist system audit and other equity initiatives. 6. Keeps abreast of current literature, research, developments, techniques related to racial equity and antiracism. 7. Prepares required reports, correspondence, and annual budget requests and recommends allocation of funds to support the professional learning of OneOTLS leaders and staff. 8. Represents OneOTLS on task forces and committees.
