WORKING TITLE: Coordinator, Enhanced Blended Learning Program for Long-Term Medically Impacted Students GRADE: N MONTHS: 12
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION: Under direction of the Supervisor of Online Learning, supports the implementation and monitoring of the Enhanced Blended Learning Program for Long-Term Medically Impacted Students. Leads the comprehensive instructional program, ensuring alignment with the program's vision, and develops and manages effective communication strategies for implementation. Provides management and leadership in both synchronous and asynchronous instructional design and implementation in the virtual space. Manages collaborative program processes including student applications, review, and qualification decisions, instructional scheduling, student and family outreach, program-to-school and school-to-program communication, and grading and reporting. Serves as a leader of the application review team, working collaboratively to determine student qualification for program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of educational principles, practices, and procedures including program design, implementation, management, and monitoring. Expertise in cross-office collaboration and communication. Ability to manage and assess program needs and budgets and support instructional leadership in various programs. Knowledge of trends in education and implementation of programs in comprehensive schools, both primary and secondary. Excellent oral/written communications and human relations skills. Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and articulate program structure, needs, decisions, and procedures. Knowledge of comprehensive, student-centered, instructional and support structures and the ability to provide oversight and management of those structures.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Master's degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis on teaching, counseling, school leadership, curriculum, instruction, and/or instructional technology, and administration & supervision certification required. Minimum of five years outstanding teacher level experience. Administrative experience in the last three years preferred. Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience that provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills required may be considered.
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Holds a current Maryland state standard and advanced professional certificate in a teaching area. Administrator I certification required. Holds a current Maryland state standard and advanced professional certificate in a teaching area. Completion of OAT I or II, or completion within one year of the position start date.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: (Special requirements such as lifting heavy objects and frequent climbing.) As required by the duties and responsibilities of the job.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: (Frequent overtime or night work required, etc.) Occasional attendance at evening meetings. The staff member will be required to report to an in-person location to fulfill the job responsibilities.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manages and facilitates a system of monitoring to ensure successful implementation of the established instructional program.

2. Works with stakeholders to deliver timely and accurate information regarding program specifics, including eligibility criteria, instructional experience, scheduling, and grading and reporting expectations.

3. Collaborates with instructional specialists and teachers to ensure program scheduling meets student needs.
4. Designs and manages communication protocols regarding student needs, both academic and social-emotional, in order to ensure overall student wellness.

5. Identifies areas of need and supports the creation of customized training and skill-building opportunities for program teachers to facilitate improvement of teaching and learning, instructional monitoring, and communication.

6. Collaborates with Office of Special Education and the Department of English Learners and Multilingual Education to determine program needs and facilitate the implementation of plans for students with special needs.

7. Demonstrates exemplary written and oral communication skills.

8. Applies knowledge of current research to practice and models a variety of research-based best practices.

9. Manages projects and establishes procedures to fulfill responsibilities and improve the program.

10. Proactively problem-solves issues related to students' instructional needs.

11. Facilitates face-to-face and online meetings.

12. Gathers and analyzes achievement and outcome data related to program participation.

13. Responds and communicates effectively to schools and other stakeholder groups about various program processes.

14. Collaborates with other MCPS offices by serving on system-wide committees and project workgroups.

15. Engages in and provides ongoing professional development to support the continuous improvement of system initiatives (technology, curriculum, instructional practices, and cultural proficiency).

16. In alignment with MCPS core values, effectively supports work around equitable, culturally responsive instruction with the goal of ensuring academic success is not predictable by race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, language proficiency, or disability.

17. Understands the six performance standards established for the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Teacher Professional Growth System (TPGS) and effectively implements the PGS to support teacher growth.
