SUMMARY DESCRIPTION; PHYSICAL DEMANDS; AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: SUMMARY DESCRIPTION; PHYSICAL DEMANDS; AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Summary Description: Under the direction of the Chief Academic Officer, the coordinator supports the administration and coordination of the Division of Teaching and Learning and its departments; manages cross-divisional regulatory and contractual processes; oversees secondary course development and related publications; and leads international education collaborations. The coordinator is also responsible for planning and facilitating professional learning for division staff and managing special projects on behalf of the Chief Academic Officer. Physical Demands: As required by the duties and responsibilities of the job. Special Requirements: Occasional night and weekend work for which there is no additional compensation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES: KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES: Knowledge of Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) laws and guidelines relative to K-12 public school instruction, grading and reporting. Thorough knowledge of K-12 public school organization, operations, and office management systems, preferably within MCPS. Considerable knowledge of public school policies, regulations, curriculum, and instructional programs, preferably within MCPS, as well as expertise in planning, implementation, evaluation, and data analysis to inform decisions. Familiarity with local, state, and national educational issues, priorities, and assessments, along with strong technology skills to support communication and planning. Excellent writing, organizational, management, time management, oral communication, and interpersonal skills are required, as is the ability to work effectively with principals, staff, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders. Knowledge of, and the ability to apply, MCPS professional growth systems.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Education, Training, and Experience: Master's degree from an accredited college or university. Five years of outstanding teaching experience or a combination of teaching, school administration, and other professional experience in which the candidate has demonstrated consistently high-quality work, initiative and leadership in a public school environment. Experience planning and facilitating professional learning for staff is also required. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.Certificate License: Meets Maryland state certification requirements for Administrator I or II.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Example Duties:Coordinates the revision of cross-divisional Board of Education policies and MCPS regulations. Coordinates the MSDE Weekly transmittal within the division. Coordinates the MCPS Assessment Committee and supports ongoing efforts to enhance K-12 Grading and Reporting.Manages all aspects of secondary school courses, including course bulletins, course codes, transcript alignment, and compliance with MSDE and MCPS regulations, as well as NCAA eligibility requirements.Plans and facilitates meetings and professional learning opportunities for staff within the Division of Teaching and Learning.Supports partnership initiatives and serves as facilitator for the Curriculum Advisory Assembly.Acts as liaison and host for visiting ministries of education, international schools, and educational offices from around the world.Serves on various committees across the district to support instructional and operational goals.Assists the Chief Academic Officer with program evaluation and student placement decisions.Provides management support to division leadership in the development and execution of contractual processes.Organizes and oversees special projects aligned with the priorities of the Division or broader MCPS initiatives.Performs related duties as assigned.
