EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responds to inquiries and requests for information from Board members, principals, staff, and community regarding operational procedures, policies, or issues.Responds to correspondence on behalf of Board members, the superintendent of schools, the deputy superintendent, and associate superintendent. Tracks and reviews correspondence assigned to the units within OHRD. Responds to employee and community telephone inquiries. Researches, writes, edits, and reviews correspondence and prepares reports for the associate superintendent, deputy and executive staff. Reviews and summarizes materials and meetings; makes recommendations to associate superintendent.Participates in the development and monitoring from initiation through adoption of the budget providing information that supports budget requests, changes, and adjustments. Remains informed concerning Board of Education actions pertinent to the operation of the office.Attends meetings and serves on committees as designated by the associate superintendent.Problem solves and resolves complaints, informing and advising the associate superintendent of imminent problems and issues.Assists with the development and maintenance of policies and regulations for which the associate superintendent is responsible.Assists unit directors in resolving problems that affect operations.Organizes and conducts systemwide events, such as BOE recognitions, New Teacher Welcome, Years of Service recognition & Retirement. Develops and implements special projects, such as teacher recruitment, grants, university partnerships, and in-house programs.Supervises staff responsible for special projects & programs, such as student teachers, state grant programs, etc.Performs related work as required.
