EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists the principal in assigned phases of school administration, management, and daily operation of the school.Shares responsibility for establishing and maintaining a welcoming environment that demonstrates respect for the students and families served by the school.Solicits input from diverse stakeholder groups in a variety of ways (e.g., surveys, e-mails, phone calls, meetings, focus groups, discussions, advisory groups, etc.) to identify and solve problems and ensures input is analyzed and implemented for continuous improvement.Responds equitably to all school and family community requests and works with staff and stakeholders to organize and celebrate differences in cultures through program materials and activities for students and families.Participates in the selection, orientation, supervision, evaluation, and improvement of school staff.Coordinates the selection and purchase of equipment and supplies and assures sound supply and financial management of the school.Manages the development and implementation of an effective competency-based instructional program. Assists teachers in the development of curriculum units.Develops procedures and activities designed to maintain a structured and positive school environment and climate. Assists staff in managing student conduct and behavior. Handles situations related to discipline.Manages an effective attendance system, including appropriate communication with students, teachers, and parents. Confers with parents and students regarding attendance, grades, and credit recovery procedures.Coordinates student transportation with central services, homeschools, school bus operators, and students. Coordinates monitoring of school bus dismissal and parking lots.Coordinates student scheduling with homeschools.Assists staff with yearbook publication.Provides for class coverage and substitute teachers as needed.Support student organizations and serves as a chaperone for extracurricular activities.Assists with promotional materials and activities for the school. Coordinates summer programs at the school.Assumes the responsibilities of the principal in his/her absence. Performs related work as required.
