EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates effective inclusive and culturally responsive family engagement and outreach programs and activities for diverse families to promote improved student learning, academic achievement, and well-being, in alignment with local priorities and state mandates. Develops structures that coordinates efforts of school system offices, schools, business and community organizations to build capacity of families to support their children. Collaborates with other departments and offices in the development of curriculum and instructional program resources for parents and the community. Plans and leads staff development activities for professional and support staff to enhance learning of effective, inclusive and culturally responsive family engagement principles and strategies. Collects data, prepares written and oral responses to requests for information, about program and special projects; and supports director with the preparation of reports and presentations for the superintendent and Board of Education Keeps abreast of current literature, research, developments, techniques related to effective inclusive and culturally responsive family engagement. Prepares required reports, correspondence, and annual budget requests and recommends allocation of funds to support the work of the unit. Have thorough knowledge of relevant policies and regulations regarding parent/guardian volunteerism and responsibilities. Coordinates parent volunteer program, including providing parent community with information about regulations regarding volunteering, collecting data regarding parent volunteers, and supporting schools in certifying eligible parent/guardians.Supervises and evaluates department staff. Represents department on task forces and committees, per direction of director.Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
