EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates family and community partnership programs and activities to promote improved student learning and academic achievement. Develops structures that link and focus efforts of school system offices, schools, business and community organizations to build capacity of families to support their children. Ensures alignment with specific countywide programs and activities such as National Network of Partnership Schools, Comer Process Model, and other related responsibilities. Organizes the design, planning, and implementation of parent outreach projects related to promote achievement of local priorities and state mandates. Collaborates with other departments and offices in the development of curriculum and instructional program resources for parents and the community. Plans and leads staff development activities for professional and support staff. Collects data and prepares written and oral responses to requests for information about program and special projects; interprets information to the Board of Education, staff, parents, and the community. Keeps abreast of current literature, research, developments, techniques related to family outreach. Prepares required reports, correspondence, and annual budget requests and recommends allocation of funds to support the work of the unit. Supervises and evaluates family and community partnerships staff. Collaborates with business leaders and community groups to build partnerships with schools. Represents family and community partnerships on task forces and committees.
