EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: (Incumbents may perform any combination of the essential functions shown below. This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or ability associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the principle job elements.)Works with other MCPS units, divisions, and departments to support IIS and home schooling requirements and protocols and to ensure and implement effective instructional venues that meet the needs students and families.Recruits, interviews, and selects teachers and support staff.Develops shared vision and district plan for online learning, including credit recovery.Leads development of online coursework, modules, and assessment.Supports alternative programming for students.Plans for and conducts staff meetings, professional development, training, steering committee meetings, and related activities.Effectively integrates technology and learning systems into the delivery, evaluation, and monitoring of services.Stays abreast of current research and development of successful programs, trends, and innovations.Facilitates communication among MCPS units, associations, school staff members, community organizations and agencies, and parents/guardians regarding services and protocols.Prepares written communication related to services and programs requirements.Responds to inquiries regarding IIS, home schooling, online learning, and credit recovery.Coordinates and ensures the implementation of appropriate protocols and supports.Assists with the preparation of the annual operating budget request and with financial monitoring of accounts and payroll.Assists in the preparation, analysis, and creation of data and subsequent reports.Participates in preparing correspondence, documents, regulations, and policies.Assists the department in implementing BOE actions pertinent to the operation of the unit.Acts as a resource to MCPS staff members for referral and interagency information.Coordinates with unit directors, supervisors, and coordinators, and other staff members to ensure effective program delivery.Understands and applies the six leadership standards that have been established for the Montgomery County Association of Administrators and Principals (MCAAP/MCBOA), the MCPS Teachers Professional Growth System (TPGS), and the Supporting Services (SEIU) Professional Growth System (SSPGS).Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
