EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and implements a partnership strategy to broaden the business base currently involved in supporting our career readiness programs of study.Conceptualizes new strategic initiatives that could be built around or benefit from corporate, foundation, government, bilateral organizations or other partnerships.Establishes collaborative relationships with business partners, higher education, governmental agencies, non-profit organizations, and MCPS school-based and central office staff that support the career readiness vision and system strategic plan.Assists school-level internship coordinators build their business networks, helping to create additional internship opportunities for students.Brokers and scales a full portfolio of work-based learning experiences including internships, apprenticeships, work-based learning, job shadowing and workforce opportunities for students and matches opportunities to schools and students leveraging the support of employers and employer advisory groups.Identifies and manages staff externships and innovative opportunities for staff members to develop their knowledge of the business world resulting in real-world connections to curriculum, instruction, assessment, programs, and counseling.Works with school counselors and college and career information coordinators to develop their capacity related to the skills, knowledge, and experience required in business settings as well as career opportunities available in the business community.Collaborates with the Office of Curriculum and Instructional Programs on the development, implementation and measurement of program effectiveness.Links school and office needs with existing or new partnerships.Utilizes evidence-based practices and uses data to inform planning and decisions. Actively promotes research and development to identify new and innovative programs and practices.Coordinates the development and dissemination of reports and information relative to partnerships for staff, Board of Education, parents, community members, business leaders and schools.Represents the Partnerships Unit on task forces and committees.Monitors the effective implementation of Board policies and district procedures regarding partnerships and recommends goals, policies, and programmatic changes.Develops and presents information and programs to the Montgomery County Board of Education, professional staff, and community groups.Oversees Summer RISE and the GIVE BACKpacks campaign.Supports the Superintendents Leadership Academy.Understands and applies the six leadership standards that have been established for the Montgomery County Association of Administrators and Principals (MCAAP/MCBOA), the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Teacher Professional Growth System (TPGS) and the Supporting Services (SEIU) Professional Growth System (SSPGS).Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
