This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or ability associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the core job elements.)Meets with director and key staff to plan and coordinate data management activities.Design and implement application and database standardization for data interoperability.Configure application and database security to meet MCPS policies and industry best practices.Facilitate joint application development sessions with end-users and team leads to define and collect user requirements.Monitor student database for performance, data integrity and optimizationProvide recommendation and guidance to various team leads regarding student systems business rules and its processes.Develops and supervises staff and assigns database tasks to team members as appropriate.Engages in personal development activities to maintain currency with industry-wide best practices.Directs staff responsible for the development and enhancement of information technology applications providing information on students. Works closely with staff in other divisions, departments and offices to support the vision, objectives and strategies of OCTO and MCPS.Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
