EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, develops, and manages school-based IT Systems Specialists (ITSSs) and other technical staff assigned to support schools.Develops and manages projects and staff associated with the deployment of technology and school readiness efforts that take place during the summer months.Assists in the development of user requirements for technology projects being implemented by Chief Technology Officer.Provides guidance, mentorship, and supervision to ITSSs and other technical staff.Assists in the management of the Job Banding program including compliance within the program as well as the ensuring those that participate are evaluated properlyParticipates in the budget process to inform fiscal decisions related to School Technology Support expenditures.Liaises with principals, teachers, and central office staff to ensure program is compatible with student learning goals, curriculum changes, and program requirements where technology is part of the solution. Aligns project priorities with the vision of the department and the MCPS enterprise.Collects, analyzes data and makes recommendations to effectively manage or improve program and/or support to end user.Stays abreast of current technologies and trends in the information technology industry.Develops policies and procedures to provide guidance to schools and offices upgrading the hardware and software products.Oversees and coordinates customer satisfaction survey(s).Coordinates with and provides expertise to other MCPS divisions and units.Understands and applies principles of performance evaluation and professional growth for employees. Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
