EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, develops, and manages the Technology Modernization program (Tech Mod).Manages the development of user requirements for technology projects being implemented by Chief Technology Officer.Analyzes statistical data to determine needs of clientPlans and manages the approval for the Tech Mod plans and financial tracking of all technology purchases. Research, test and recommend new technologies.Manages budget and expenditures for the Innovative Technology unit through planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating, the work of the unit and its staff.Liaison with principals, teachers, and central office directors and coordinators to ensure program is compatible with student learning goals, curriculum changes, and program requirements where technology is part of the solution. Liaison with Maryland Education Enterprise Consortium.Aligns project priorities and purchases with the vision of the division and the MCPS enterprise.Creates and monitors unit budget.Monitors purchases and capital expenditures to achieve maximum return for the investments made by MCPS to administering the Tech Mod program.Collect, analyze data and make recommendations to effectively manage or improve program and/or support to end user.Stays abreast of current technologies and trends in the information technology industry.Develops policies and procedures to provide guidance to schools and offices upgrading the hardware and software products.Oversees and coordinates customer satisfaction survey(s).Coordinates with and provides expertise to other MCPS divisions and units.Prepares district software true-ups.Assists with E-Rate projections and monitoring.Performs other related duties as required.
