Summary Description:
Under direction, develops and monitors a broad range of supply chain data, repots, schedules and overall general logistical inventory controls. Work of the class consists of planning, directing, and coordinating the supply chain procedures and documentation necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

Extensive knowledge of supply chain management with particular application in the public sector; including procurement and inventory management. Working knowledge of local government accounting procedures and systems. A basic understanding of the technical aspects of computer applications related to the procurement and logistic functions; considerable knowledge of office procedures, practices, and equipment.. Excellent oral and written communications and human relations skills are essential to the accomplishment of the work objectives. Knowledge and application of the six leadership standards that have been established for the Montgomery County Association of Administrators and Principals (MCAAP/MCBOA) Professional Growth System (PGS).

Education Training Experience:Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business or public administration with coursework in, procurement, supply chain and inventory management. Progressively responsible experience in supply chain operations (preferably in a public service setting) utilizing computer support. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively, may be considered.Certificate License:Possession of a valid driver^s license.

Example Duties:On a regular and continuing basis develops, maintains, reviews, and documents supply chain procedures using technical knowledge and identifies those areas which may have procedural deficiencies or which need modification.Advises department director on supply chain procedural enhancements or changes that should be implemented or requires attention.Researches and analyzes supply chain deficiencies and/or problems and provides solutions.Prepares and/or reviews procedural documentation of newly developed modules or routines and rewrites existing procedures.Develops and maintains a Materials Management ManualDevelops written analyses of existing workflow and the controls that are established within that workflowDevelops written plans, schedules, and work papers to coordinate the delivery of supply chain operations.Works closely with the internal audit staff and coordinates various staff assignments relating to inventory accuracy and cycle count program.Responds to questions/requests from other departments or divisions which need assistance with unusual problems or circumstances.Controls and reviews any unusual inventory adjustments, and approvals product overages and discrepancies with vendor deliveries.Prepares or assists in preparation of numerous forecast reports and schedules.Acts for the department director when the director is absent,Performs task assignments of other staff in their absence, and participates in the training and orientation of new employees with respect to the departments^ expectations, policies and procedures.Perform related work as required.
