EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts regular reviews of County programs, policies, activities, services, and facilities for ADA compliance; provides technical assistance and training to staff; identifies areas of non-compliance and provides detailed reports and analysis; and makes recommendations on corrective actions.Develops and maintains database of ADA Compliance matters and projects.Assists staff in understanding and responding to requests for the provision of auxiliary aids, services, and reasonable modification of policies and procedures to enable individuals with disabilities to participate in and benefit from programs and services.Develops and delivers ADA compliance-related training to employees as needed.Manages the ongoing implementation of the County's Project Civic Access (PCA) Settlement Agreement with County officials.Works with County departments, independent licensed architects, engineers and contractors to ensure compliance with the Title II ADA Standards for Accessible Design and the Maryland Accessibility Code.Develops timelines and establishing project cost estimates for projects and CIP.Serves as the point of contact for communication with the Department of Justice (DOJ) regarding complaints and violations. Prepares MCPS's bi-annual report to the BOE and maintain public-facing information. Works closely with the Office of General Council (OGC) and the Department of Compliance and Investigations (DCI) in addressing complaints, lawsuits, and other related matters.Reviews Capital Improvements Program (CIP) projects to ensure ADA compliance goals are met.Manages ADA-related projects from the planning phase to the completion of the construction.Performs other related duties as required.
