EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with the meaningful planning and coordination of WBSS workgroups, meetings, and presentations.Designs, coordinates and implements the WBSS professional learning plan.Models effective leadership practices, including articulating a vision for effective instruction, utilizing time management strategies, prioritizing work, attending to one's own professional growth through reflection and critical analysis of practice.Facilitates, coaches and monitors a nexus between implementing restorative justice practices and change in school culture, the ability to reengage students, and increased student performance.Monitors and analyzes school performance and student outcomes within the school improvement process related to well-being and to support WBSS directors in implementation of programs to address specific student and school needs. Collaborates with School Support and Well-Being school supervisory directors and learning and achievement specialists to develop, align, and implement mental health and well-being expectations, resources, supports, and professional learning within the school improvement process.Supports staff to coordinate, facilitate and support school personnel in data collection, assessment, and analysis of formal and informal data points for use in targeting and monitoring the effectiveness of well-being, restorative justice and mindfulness intervention programs.Promotes social, physical, and psychological development opportunities aligned with anti-racist practices and culturally inclusive engagement for diverse student populations to ensure social-emotional well-being and academic success. Diverse populations may include, but are not limited to, students of diverse racial and cultural backgrounds, students experiencing poverty, students who identify as LGBTQIA+, and students who have experienced trauma.Coordinates and aligns professional learning for district and school administrators, and teachers, to assist them in meeting district strategic priorities.Helps to design and lead professional learning opportunities, aligned with anti-racist practices and culturally inclusive engagement, related to student well-being for principals and school leadership teams to foster change in adult practice and support student learning and performance.Collaborates with community-based organizations, agencies of county government, mental health and behavioral health organizations, and other partners in implementation of initiatives related to the office of well-being and student services.Conducts school site visits, and shares information with administrators, and other school-based staff as appropriate.Disseminates information and provides training for students, parents, families and others related to district well-being initiatives, the integrated mental health framework, and social-emotional wellness learning.Develops reports and other communications to provide information, data, and data analysis related to both the effectiveness of the initiatives related to the integrated mental health framework, and its impact on student outcomes.Assists with increasing the efficacy and fidelity of initiatives and interventions related to student well-being.Serves on MCPS, county, and state committees and workgroups, as assigned. Coordinates conferences, meetings and other professional development opportunities for administrators, teachers, students, parents and other audiences.Understands and applies the six performance standards established for the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Teacher Professional Growth System (TPGS).Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
