This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or ability associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the principle job elements.)Informs schools and communities about the Targeted School Improvement requirements within Maryland¿s Consolidated Plan and the implications for MCPS.Provides job-embedded coaching to school-based instructional leaders on the topics of race and equity, developing, implementing and monitoring school improvement plans and the action plans to support them, providing effective feedback, and teaching and learning rigorous content .Collaborates with other offices and teams to support and provide professional learning related to system initiatives.Uses School Support and Improvement Framework data to assess school strengths/areas for continued improvement.Designs and provides training to instructional leaders to build their knowledge and skills to lead their teams/departments.Collects and analyzes data to evaluate the effectiveness of supports and adjusts work according to the outcomes.Keeps knowledgeable regarding effective instructional practices.Reviews recent literature and research studies and reports.Evaluates findings and suggests changes or modifications to improve existing programs.Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.Supports school-based instructional leaders as they develop and maintain professional learning communities as a vehicle for school improvement,Provides targeted school improvement efforts in the Title I schools by providing consultation and individualized follow-up support for school leadership teams.Plans and conducts staff development that is linked to school improvement efforts aligned with the anti-racist audit action plan and Targeted School Improvement guidelines in collaboration with administrators, school leadership teams, and other MCPS offices including training sessions for paraeducators.Meets with leadership teams and teachers to analyze formal and informal data to facilitate appropriate instructional planning matched to the needs of students.Engages families to obtain feedback regarding the instructional experience and school improvement planning. Understands and applies the six performance standards established for the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Teacher Professional Growth System (TPGS).Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
