EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or ability associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the principle job elements.)Monitors the implementation of the gifted and talented policy and regulation as it relates to academic programming and supports (i.e., gifted and talented identification, accessing enrichment and acceleration, and other county programs). Collaborates with school leadership to develop and implement professional development focused on rigorous instructional practices at all levels (Elementary, Middle, and High). Develops curriculum and resources for enriched and accelerated instruction (Elementary, Middle, and High). Develops processes to ensure that all students receive appropriately challenging instruction. Develops and deliver training for both face-to-face and online professional development based on knowledge of adult learner theory and knowledge of MCPS goals, priorities, and initiatives. Provides guidance, develop curriculum, and monitor the implementation for the selective magnet (Elementary/Middle/High) and local school programming for enrichment and acceleration. Gathers and analyzes data related to advanced level instruction and special programs. Collaborates with other MCPS offices by serving on system-wide committees and project based workgroups. Understands and applies the six performance standards established for the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Teacher Professional Growth System (TPGS).Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
