EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates with the content teams, school staff, and parents to develop and support implementation of the online curriculum in content areas with the integration of information literacy skills. Provides consultative services to school-based staff to support student achievement of the MCPS curriculum in a specified content. Analyzes, evaluates, and supports effective instruction in the library media program. Collaborates with technology consultants to plan and implement instructional technology training to library media staff. Makes on-site and Web-based presentations to parents and staff. Reviews field appropriate literature and research studies and reports to support and disseminate instructional best practices in library media programs that develop content knowledge and skills, critical and creative thinking, and academic success. Works closely with school staff through the facilitation of work groups and advisory committees to support effective implementation of school library media programs and effective instructional practices and to identify data and collect feedback for continuous program improvements. Assumes responsibility for the coordination and implementation of special projects. In alignment with MCPS' core values, effectively supports work around equitable, culturally responsive instruction with the goal of ensuring academic success is not predictable by race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, language proficiency, or disability. Implements research-based practices that support improved student learning outcomes. Performs related work as required.
