EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Screens and evaluates children to determine needs for physical therapy.Identifies physical therapy goals for the child's individualized family service plan (IFSP) or individualized education program (IEP). Provides physical therapy interventions that enable children with disabilities to benefit from special education and to participate in the natural/general education environment.Provides consultation to team members on reinforcement of strategies and use of adaptive equipment for functional mobility, positioning, and safe participation in daily activities. Maintains communication with parents to discuss progress on goals and provide activities for home to reinforce skills. Completes required documentation including evaluations, progress notes, service logs, IEPS, IFSPs and quarterly progress reports in a timely manner.Participates in staff meetings and development activitiesParticipates in IFSP and IEP meetings, team meetings and parent conferencesSsupervises service provided by physical therapy students and physical therapy assistants. Performs related work as required.
