EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or ability associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the core job elements.)Provides both direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities and general classroom teachers.Serves as liaison between school staff members and school administration including special education supervisor.Prepares for Educational Management Team/IEP team meetings and coordinates case management. Interprets both formal, informal, and classroom-based assessment for students to make instructional decisions. Collects data on student performance so as to improve student outcomes and direct instruction. Selects and adapts materials to assist students with disabilities to access the general education curriculum. Participates in professional development activities designed to advance teacher knowledge in the areas of instruction, best practices, differentiated instruction, changes in educational policy, and other information as may be necessary to effective classroom instruction and programming for students with disabilities. Supervises and plans for the continuing professional development of paraeductors assigned to students with disabilities.Participates in training workshop for new resource room teachers. Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
