EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides leadership and training in the development of information literacy skills including the abilities to access, evaluate, and use information.Supports staff and students in developing an appreciation of literature and reading to access information.Understands the content and organization of the curriculum and recognizes relationships among subject fields.Promotes flexible scheduling to maximize opportunities for collaboration with staff to make connections to the instructional program.Organizes and manages resources and facilities essential to a comprehensive school library media program.Establishes and maintains a school library media center environment that motivates and enables timely student access to the facilities and resources to attain instructional and personal objectives.Plans and utilizes a variety of evaluation techniques that measure the effectiveness of the school library media program in the context of teaching and learning and make appropriate adjustments to meet identified needs.Supports the school goals and objectives with an Action Plan aligned with the School Improvement Plan.Reflects and appraises the effectiveness of teaching and managerial practices as well as the instructional program, not only in terms of achieving personal objectives, but also in the context of the total school instructional program.Fosters constructive attitudes associated with the ethical use of information by members of the school community.Performs related work as required.
