EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The specific duties and responsibilities of the Site Manager are both instructional and project related. The instructional duties and responsibilities include:Working collaboratively with CTF specialists.Implementing an instructional program that meets the needs, interests and abilities of individuals with and without disabilities to ensure Success for Every Student.Working with and instructing assigned classes at the Young American job site at all times.Creating a work site environment that provides for student involvement in the learning process and enables each student to achieve learning objectives through the construction of a student-built house.Preparing for classes and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.Guiding the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals by establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and to communicate these objectives to students, both written and orally.Establishing learning objectives consistent with appraisal of student needs, requirements of MCPS curriculum framework, and knowledge of human growth and development.Planning for and utilizes instructional methods, resources, and evaluation techniques which motivate and enable each student to achieve learning objectives, as well as achieving construction benchmarks.Implementing identified IEP accommodations. Provides input when necessary to student IEP's.Takes all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.Maintaining accurate and complete records as required by law, MCPS policy, and administration to include a daily site journal.Assisting the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct and, for the classroom site, develops reasonable rules of classroom site behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the work site in a fair and just manner.Making provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related or construction requirement purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so.Establishing relationships with colleagues, students, parents and community which reflect recognition of and respect for every individual.Planning and supervising purposeful assignments for para educator in collaboration with other instructional staff.Maintaining and improving professional competence.Participating in department management and sharing responsibility for the total Foundation Office programs.Attending staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required. Performing related work as required by the office, department, division, and unit. The project duties and responsibilities include:Observing and managing the CTE teachers at the construction site.Preparing the construction site each day for the classes scheduled prior to student arrival, ensuring appropriate provisioning and safety.Securing construction site, tools, equipment, and materials at the end of each day.Maintaining and supplying a construction van, supplies, and materials to meet the construction needs.Performing take offs of construction materials and equipment needs to meet the construction schedule.Ordering and picking up materials to meet construction needs with approval from supervisor.Assisting the instructional specialist in the development of a construction schedule and completion of required tasks.Reviewing, correcting, and analyzing construction drawings to ensure compliance with Montgomery County permitting standards.Assisting the instructional specialist in scheduling of required Department Permitting Service inspections.Meeting with Department of Permitting Service inspectors and correcting any recommendations or violations.Meeting with the instructional specialist to address board member concerns and directions following site visits.Assisting the instructional specialist in meetings with sub-contractors related to scope and sequence of work.Assisting the instructional specialist in scheduling or dialoguing with sub-contractors.Assisting the instructional specialist in preparing RFPs (Request for Proposal and Pricing).Working with the various trades to achieve the construction benchmarks.Working with the students and teachers at the site as it relates to approved building codes.Enforcing and reporting of safety violations at the job site in a timely fashion.Organizing and stocking the construction trailer and sea crate.Maintaining the construction trash and arranging for trash removal.Assisting the instructional specialist with the walk-thru and punch out list and correcting all items.Assisting the instructional specialist in dialoguing with home owners related to warranty issues.Dialoguing with teachers, instructional specialist, program personnel, and program coordinator related to stated duties.
