Data Integration Specialist/Division of Controller

WORKING TITLE: Data Integration Specialist/Division of Controller GRADE: 23 MONTHS: 12
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION: Assists the Controller in Division of Controller in managing, monitoring, and controlling the cloud Financial Management System (HUB), including technical development, reporting, and systems support. The work of the class involves responsibility for maintaining the data integrity of all aspects of the HUB. The worker supervises and controls other business accounting and reporting systems sharing data with the HUB. Leads in system designs and changes, and develops and implements new procedures. Responsible for components of the technical innovations and modifications undertaken by the unit including project planning, project management, and staffing. Responsible for developing implementation plans and work plans in support of the implementation. Develops and assists in the delivery of unified user training. Oversees and develops system and process documentation. Responsible for the development of test scripts during enhancement implementation or during full scale upgrades of existing systems. Assists the Controller in the development and production of an integrated communications program for MCPS entity wide. Manage Unit staff responsible for process activity, user training and procedures documentation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Thorough understanding of accounting process, policies and functions. Thorough knowledge of Oracle and the implementation of Oracle Financials applications. Knowledge of technical applications and solutions that will assist the Division of Controller in daily operations; ability to evaluate the technologies and prioritize based upon payback and available resources. Ability to plan and coordinate tasks and lead Unit members through new application implementations. Ability to assist the unit in developing effective communication strategies. Must be able to coach, supervise and lead other Unit members. Self-motivated and able to work in quick paced environment. Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks in a timely manner. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the seven core competencies of the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS).
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree required. Course work in computer science, technology, information management systems, or related field is preferred. Extensive experience in Oracle financial application and accounting is required. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience may be considered.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists the Controller in the coordination of the functional role in systems implementations, enhancements and upgrades. Responsible for the development of test scripts appropriate for the enhancement. Responsible for maintaining a catalogue and library of test scripts, reviewing and updating when appropriate.
Responsible for the planning, execution, and implementation of new application segments/components. Will ensure that timelines are met and implementation is completed in a manner that supports project goals and objectives.
Will work with Controller¿s leadership in determining optimal timeframes for implementation. Responsible for project schedules, risk identification and mitigation, resource expectations and status reporting to Controller.
Observes and evaluates daily operations of unit members to identify and address training and process improvement opportunities. Using effective meeting guidelines is responsible for meeting facilitation, meeting documentation, development of feasible solutions, and problem resolution..
Responsible for the direction and work of unit staff in support of Grant process, School Activity process, budget process, mandated requirements and other information requests.
Represents the Division of Controller in relationships with technical offices and departments. Represents functional users by developing clear definition of problems, requirements, and needs.
Responsible for maintaining expert knowledge in Oracle Discover, the Human Resource Information System (HRIS), Fortis, and Oracle Financial Application as well as other or any future technical installations.
Responsible for system table maintenance and other system set up requirements to ensure deadlines are met,
Responsible for technical support to Division Functional Specialists.
Lead the development of process and procedure manuals for MCPS. Working with functional specialists, will direct a periodic review of manuals, updating where appropriate.
Works with managers to identify appropriate performance measures and data collection methods; supports the data collection through the development of reports and other monitoring tools.
Performs other duties as required.
