EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides leadership for staff members and participates in updating the facilities data base. 2. Coordinates preparation of educational specifications and writes educational specifications. 3. Responsible for modifications to the building standards. 4. Identifies enrollment and utilization problems; supports Area Superintendents in discussions of facility and CIP issues with communities. 5. Participates in the development and preparation of alternative solutions to identified problems. 6. Schedules and arranges for staff work sessions on the annual CIP and Master Plans. 7. Participates in the preparation of documents for updating facilities plans. 8. Supervises the publication and distribution of the CIP and Master Plans, including notification and explanation to civic groups across the county. 9. Participates in community and other governmental agency meetings relating to the plans and other facilities planning matters. 10. Participates in the preparation of staff responses to requests for data and information and other correspondence relating to the CIP and Master Plans. 11. Assists Board of Education staff in scheduling and arranging for public hearings on the final documents. 12. Participates in Board work and action sessions on CIP plans, including pre-Board information. 13. Works with other central office staff and area office staff; participates in implementation of Board action(s), e.g.: School/community notification of actions. 14. Prepares educational specifications for capital projects. 15. Assists transportation staff in planning for the upcoming school year to reflect approved changes. 16. Supports staff in major studies for reorganizations, etc. 17. Provides assistance to the director of the department in other work areas as necessary. 18. Performs related duties as required.
