SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION: Under the direction of the Director, Division of Maintenance and Operations, assists in the coordination, execution and implementation of a diverse portfolio of projects. Prepares presentations and content for program imitative status and serves as department/division representative through communication and collaboration with various stakeholders and staff throughout the division. Assists with planning and coordination of a variety of leadership and employee events and activities. Participates in content creation for projects and initiatives. The nature of the work requires assistance in the application of the principles and practices of project management. Contributes to the planning and development of projects. The nature of the work requires assistance in the application of the principals and practices of HVAC-R, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry trades.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of project management methodologies and administration. Technical knowledge of HVAC-R, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry trades. Demonstrated ability to use standard office equipment and software skills utilizing MS Office Suite, Google Suite, Adobe Suite, computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and other design software efficiently and effectively. Ability to exercise independent initiative, establish priorities, organize resources, and make procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues. Ability to make decisions in accordance with established procedures and practices required. Strong writing and presentation skills needed. Knowledge of different social media platforms.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in construction, business, engineering or related field of equivalent work experience. Two or more years of increased responsibility in the administrative, technical and field experience in facilities, engineering or business consulting industry. Experience managing multiple projects with varying interdependencies.
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Project Management Professional (PMP), MS Project preferred.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Researches information to support the division as needed.

2. Performs project administrative tasks.

3. Tracks and reports on project progress.

4. Analyzes data and makes recommendations for improvement.

5. Prepares reports, communication, presentations and graphics.

6. Maintains data and content of internal and external webpages.

7. Coordinates events relative to assigned projects or tasks.

8. Assesses information needs and implement strategies for outreach.

9. Assist in facilitating process improvement teams.

10. Applies theories, principles, practical concepts, and processes related to: maintenance trades, standards, techniques, and practices, traditional engineering science disciplines (e.g., industrial, mechanical, and electrical), physical science disciplines (e.g., materials and physics), analytical reasoning and scientific methodology, and interpreting designs.

11. Assists in coordinating and monitoring repair project activities to ensure that all phases of a project are completed and within specifications.

12. Maintains facility design plans, and specifications for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and compliance with educational specifications, regulatory requirements and established guidelines.

13. Represents MCPS at community and official meetings which may include parents, teachers, school staff, students, community members, community associations, government agencies and others on a need by basis.

14. Maintains oversight of the project schedule and report deviations in a timely fashion to the facility manager.

15. Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of this position.
